Larnaca Taxis is the largest town in Cyprus, located on the island's south coast. It is the last stop before you reach the coast or begin your descent to the city of Nicosia. Many famous stars were seen dining at one of Larnaca's many fancy restaurants, and many famous events and concerts were also held there.


However, the main reason people come to Larnaca is for its beautiful beaches. There are actually eight beaches located in the town; the largest and most famous being Butterfly Beach. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, then you should visit one of these beaches. If you want to spend your vacation watching the kids play, then take them to one of the town's public parks. If you are in a resort mood and want to make the most of the magnificent nature, then visit one of the nearby national parks. You'll have a magnificent view of the island's beautiful flora and fauna.


Butterfly Beach

We'll begin with Butterfly Beach. Located in the middle of Larnaca, this beach is easily accessible by foot. It is possible to reach Butterfly Beach from either the northern or the southern part of the island. The northern part of the island leads to the Troodos Mountains, while the southern part of the island is surrounded by the ancient Cypriot countryside. There is a bus stop right outside of the northern part of town, close to the beach. From here you can take the bus to either Limassol or Paphos. Both of those cities have a train stop as well.


Butterfly Beach is a beautiful and secluded beach. It is well-maintained and features a barbeque restaurant, as well as beach umbrellas and sun lounges. There are also lifeguards on duty at this beach. If you are visiting the island during the winter, you should come here to enjoy the warm weather. The water is usually crystal clear, creating a spectacular view of the seafoam. It is also the best place in the area to watch the sunset.


Amphitheatre Beach

Just to the east of Butterfly Beach is Amphitheatre Beach. This is another beautiful and secluded beach within walking distance of the city center. It is surrounded by mountains and offers a panoramic view of the entire coastline. Just across the street is a well-known hotel and casino. Another lovely restaurant is located there, as well as a barbeque restaurant. It also has a small amusement park with a carousel and a few rides for the kids.


One of the things that make Amphitheatre Beach so interesting is that it is the spot where the Romans once staged spectacular battles. It is also the spot where the Cypriot and the Turkish armies used to clash during the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus dispute in the 1970s. That portion of the island is now divided, and you won't see any battles there, but you will see many Turks and many locals. There are also times when the wall that separates the two sides of the island is still standing, so you get a strange feeling that you are in Cyprus and not in mainland Turkey.


Anafiotika Beach

On the other side of the island is Anafiotika Beach. This beach offers another magnificent view of the coastline and is a great place for families. In the evening, a huge bonfire is lit on the beach, and everyone pitches in to roast marshmallows and make s'mores. There are also fireworks, sparklers, and crazy dancing that accompany the summer night's spectacular sunset. It is possible to reach this beach from the Limassol Highway; however, it is best to take the scenic route that goes through the Troodos Mountains. This beach also features a barbeque restaurant, and just to the north of that is a hotel with a casino and a spa. Anafiotika Beach is one of the island's most popular beaches.


Pembroke Beach

Pembroke Beach is yet another glorious stretch of beach, located in the southern suburbs of the city. It is well-known for its fishing village and its luxury hotels and golf courses. It is easily accessible from both the north and the south. The northern part of the island is again surrounded by the Troodos Mountains, while the southern part of the island is a part of the Asia-Pacific region. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, then Pembroke Beach is the place to be. There is also the Pembroke Castle hotel, which provides a panoramic view of the beach. This hotel features two championship golf courses, nine-hole and eighteen-hole layouts. If you are looking for a fun day out, you could go for a cruise on the beach, which features live music and dancing onboard.


Garden Beach

One more beach to tell you about is Garden Beach. Just a ten-minute drive from the center of Larnaca will take you to paradise. You cannot miss this beach, especially if you visit it in the afternoon. The northern part of the island is again surrounded by the Troodos Mountains, while the southern part of the island is a part of the Asia-Pacific region. The beach has everything you might need for a relaxing vacation. There is a large, crystal-clear pool, as well as a large Jacuzzi. There is also a barbeque restaurant, and just behind that is a small amusement park. However, the main attraction here is the view. There is no other beach in Cyprus that provides such a view. You cannot miss this beach if you want to have a good time. There are actually two portions of the beach. One is for hotel guests, and the other is for the general public.
